Chapter 2: Crossing that Line

“I’m going to fucking kill him!” Crystal exclaimed as she paced.

“His car could have broken down,” Shelli suggested as she sat on the curb watching her friend.

They had been waiting in front of their high school for over an hour. Crystal considered walking home, but she was hoping that Joe would pull through. He promised to pick the girls up after school. It was senior ditch day, so he wasn’t at school that day. Crystal figured that he spent the day with his “new” girlfriend and that thought only pissed Crystal off.

“If he isn’t here in five minutes, I’m walking,” Crystal stated.

“You said that an hour ago. I think you’d wait an eternity for him, but luckily for you, I’m just as fed up as you are. So we seriously will walk if he doesn’t show,” Shelli replied.

“He’s with that newbie, I just know it.”

“Oh, here we go. You’re obsessing again and you know you’ll only upset yourself.”

Crystal ignored her friend and went on this long rant about his new relationship. Shelli was tuning her friend out. She couldn’t understand why Crystal liked Joe so much, the guy obviously wasn’t interested in her. She couldn’t figure out why Crystal would waste her time.

“Fuckin’ newbies!” Crystal exclaimed.

Since Shelli wasn’t exactly listening, that statement seemed random and it made her chuckle. She remembered how she and Crystal made up that nickname for all of Joe’s girls. They never stayed around long enough to learn their names, so Crystal and Shelli just called them newbies, but not to their faces.

“Oh look, he finally made it,” Shelli said as Joe’s car pulled up in front of them.

The newbie was in the passenger seat and she didn’t look too happy about being here. Joe jumped out of the car and noticed that the girls weren’t happy to see him. He figured that they’d be angry about him being late.

“Hey lil’ Chris…and friend,” Joe said casually.

“I do have a name,” Shelli snapped as she got into the car.

She knew that Crystal was going to bite Joe’s head off and she didn’t want to be out there to hear it.

“Where the fuck were you?!” Crystal yelled.

“I got…delayed,” Joe said as he glanced at the newbie.

“What the hell! You see a nice pair of legs and you forget your friends,” Crystal raged.

“Friend…Shelli’s your friend,” Joe corrected.

“Whatever, that’s besides the point.”

“I know I messed up. I promise to make it up to you.”

“And how will you manage that?”

“I could take you to one of my gigs.”

“Shelli would have to go with me though.”

“Fine…are we okay now?”

“I guess.”

Crystal got in the backseat with Shelli, who was not surprised that the argument didn’t last long. Crystal hardly ever stayed angry with Joe and it was ridiculous. Crystal felt good about winning the argument because Joe hardly ever brought her to his gigs. He would DJ a different events and he’d also pick up girls there too. That was probably why he hardly ever brought Crystal along.

It was around 8 pm when Joe knocked on the door. He was now waiting for Crystal to get dressed and he had been waiting for a while now. He figured that it was only fair since he made her wait the other day, but he couldn’t help getting irritated. Shelli was trying to make friendly conversation and it was barely working. She noticed that Joe brought some other girl with him. This one was a gum popper and smacker. It was utterly annoying.

"Hey Joe. What's up?" Crystal said as she slowly walked down the stairs.

Joe wasn't facing the stairs when he heard Crystal, so he had to turn around to see her. When he did, he saw something he couldn't describe and was faced with thoughts he never dreamed of thinking. He stood there with his mouth gaped open and Crystal knew that he didn't see her as a kid anymore. She was going to flaunt it all in his face.

Crystal was wearing a hot pink halter top and low-cut jeans that slightly exposed her pink thong. Shelli couldn’t believe that her friend was dressing so provocatively just to impress Joe. Shelli thought it was silly because Joe had a short attention span and she figured that he’d lose interest in Crystal as soon as they got to the club.

“So are we going or what?” the newbie asked, thoroughly irritated that Joe was paying Crystal extra attention.

“Come on ladies, we have a club to go to…wait, you have your fake IDs, right?” Joe inquired just before opening the door.

“Of course, we never leave home without them,” Shelli replied as she showed hers to Joe.

“Got mine’s too, but I don’t think I look like this chick in the photo,” Crystal said as she examined her ID.

“You do tonight,” Joe said as he looked at her ID and flashed her a smile.

Crystal hadn’t sat down the whole night because she had been dancing with so many different guys. She finally got to take a break and decided to sit at a high table. She knew that she should be having fun, but she couldn’t help feeling a little down. After Joe’s set was over, he barely paid any attention to her. Crystal saw him talking to some chick wearing a mini skirt and fish net stockings. The gum popper from before left already with some other guy.

Shelli would have lifted Crystal’s spirits, but she was dancing with some guy not too far away from the table. The more Crystal stared at Joe, the more depressed she got. She was about to rest her head on the table when Joe popped up out of nowhere.

“So why aren’t you on the dance floor?” Joe asked.

“I guess I got tired,” Crystal lied.

“Well snap out of it because you’re gonna dance with me.”

“What happened to that chick you were talking to?”

“What does it matter? She’s not with me now is she?”

He did have a point there and without further explanation, Crystal hopped off the stool she was sitting on and Joe led her to the dance floor. When Joe reached a spot that wasn’t so crowded, he pulled Crystal close to him. Crystal was grinding with him to the beat and her heart was racing. Shelli noticed that her friend was now dancing with Joe and she was happy for her.

The song currently playing was a hip-hop tune, but it quickly changed to a slow jam. Crystal didn’t know what to do because she was sure that Joe wouldn’t want to dance to this song. She was wrong because he spun her around and held her in his arms. They swayed to the beat and Crystal thought she was going to faint.

Joe couldn’t believe all the thoughts that were floating in his head. He tried to tell himself that this was lil’ Chris, but he wasn’t listening. She was looking really good tonight and he couldn’t help himself. His arms slid down her back and were now wrapped around her waist. Crystal wrapped her arms around his neck and they were suddenly really close to one another.

This closeness made it hard for Joe to resist kissing her. So he did and to his surprise, Crystal kissed him back. The kiss started as soft and gentle, but progressed into this deep, passionate kiss. Crystal had to pull away because he was taking her breath away.

“So what now?” Joe asked studying her curiously.

“I don’t know. What usually happens next?” Crystal inquired.

“You probably aren’t ready for that yet.”

“How would you know? Right now, I’m up for anything.”

Joe gave her a look because he wasn't believing what he was hearing. He was a little suspicious that Crystal liked him, but he never expected this. Before any doubts were said or even thought of, he suggested that they leave the club.

After Joe dropped Shelli off at her house, he felt awkward being alone with Crystal in his car. Usually, they could talk about anything, but now there was this silence that lasted until Joe drove into the driveway of his parents’ house. They got out of the car and just stood there staring at one another.

“So…” Crystal started, not exactly sure how to finish her sentence.

“This is new, huh?” Joe commented.

“Yep. I seriously don’t know what to do now.”

“Me either.”

“Hmm, why don’t you treat me like those other girls?”

“I’m sure you don’t mean that.”

“Of course not, but if that’s what it’s going to take to get you to make a move, then ok.”

Joe was still shocked at what Crystal was saying, but he was also shocked that he was taking her up on the offer. He kissed Crystal and this time it was short and sweet. He noticed that his parents weren’t home, so he led Crystal into his house.

Once they were in Joe’s room, Crystal didn’t know what to expect because she’d never done something like this before. Joe was fully aware of this, but it didn’t stop him. Crystal’s mind was screaming doubts at her, but before she could act, Joe kissed her. His kiss muted all the thoughts in her head and as he kissed her, his hands were fiddling with her jeans. Once they were off, he stopped kissing her for a moment and his eyes seemed to ask her if she wanted to continue. She nodded quickly and Joe led her to his bed.

After he was through undressing her and himself, he planted kisses all over her body. He was steadily moving downward and Crystal closed her eyes. When she felt his tongue on such a sensitive part of her body, it was like a shot of electricity shot through her body. Her breathing staggered and her fingers griped the bed sheet beneath her tightly. When she climaxed, Joe went back to kissing her lips.

Crystal had never felt anything like that before and the best was yet to come.</lj-ct>
